* Job Summary:
* The Managed Services Solution Architect (MSA) is a field-based technical pre-sales role that focuses on developing comprehensive managed services solutions for CDW customers. This role involves providing consultative guidance, supporting partner product sales, scoping service offerings, and fostering strategic relationships to drive business growth. In this role you will be working with customers, delivery, and internal sales teams as a trusted advisor to grow our managed services business.
* What you will do:
* Provide pre-sales support for managed services related opportunities across all geographies. Provides analyses and technical support for client's Managed Services engagements, and assists the account team with development of proposals, quotations and presentations; responsible for technical sales cycle working closely with sales to close business.
* Maintains client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor. Serves as a collaborative support across internal teams and clients when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties.
* Prepares sales quotations and technical responses to Request of Quotation (RFQs) & Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
* Gathers key metrics to determine scope; organizes the information into the pricing formats.
* Works with Sales Specialists to develop a long-term business relationship with the client's management and key decision-makers, providing outsourcing solutions to meet the client business needs.
* Participates in presentations to clients and potential clients.
* Creates and delivers polished proposals and client deliverables.
* Provides timely and accurate work estimates for clients.
* Develops and presents Service Work Orders (SOWs) and works with Sales and the client throughout the redlining process.
* Provides information to other CDW groups on the client needs, problems, interests, market situations, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services.
* Be knowledgeable about Managed Services solutions including applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services.
* Provide feedback to delivery and Research and Development groups concerning trends and opportunities.
* 75% Sales activities via conference calls, email, and customer visits.
* 20% Training - technology and personal development.
* 5% Team development and miscellaneous tasks.
* Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
* What we expect of you:
* Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years' experience in a technical, pre-sales, or a post sales delivery role, OR
* 7 years' experience in a technical, pre-sales, or a post sales delivery role.
* Technical understanding of at least one of the technologies supported by managed services such as network, virtualization, storage, patching.
* Strong communication skills both orally and written with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and various cross functional teams as well as customers.
* Strong passion for learning and teaching others.
* Proven group presentations skills.
* Motivated and self-starting.
* Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas that will increase sales.
* Proven ability to proactively collaborate and build relationships, take initiative, and creatively problem solve.
* Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
* Concentrate on certain areas of technology driven by company technology objectives.
* Experience in technology sales.
* Applicant should demonstrate solid attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy.
* Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize. Ability to apply common sense in performing job. Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines. Ability to travel as needed.
* Prior technical pre-sales experience, a plus.
* ITIL and/or PMI certification, a plus.
* Managed Services experience, a plus.
* Demonstrated knowledge of project estimation and scoping experience, a plus.
