Solution Architect - CPQ (United States, Remote)

As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Salesforce CPQ Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in creating unparalleled customer experiences. Our Solution Architects function as a liaison between our clients and the Thunder team, translating client requirements into the architecture for key client needs. The SA understands the scope of the project and validates the correct resources for the project, maps business functional requirements to system/technical requirements, and ensures alignment of planning and solutions with client’s business goals, while managing expectations related to scope of work. 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate previous consulting experience in Salesforce CPQ (and preferably Billing), and will partner with our Practice Lead and other Architects to comply with best practices related to solution design, documentation, and guidelines that lead to the identification, selection, development and use of solutions and applications. You will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert, partnering with sales and business development teams in the process of client discovery and sales engineering, to continue helping our customers love Salesforce, forever.

Role + Responsibilities 

  • Lead client architecture initiatives from inception to completion, collaborating with business users to create architecture in alignment with business needs
  • Responsible for CPQ solution design and implementation
  • Lead business and technology analysis and provide CRM domain expertise
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for business users, and challenge point of views as necessary
  • Champion the adoption of reusable architecture assets to improve efficiency (including adding to Thunder’s solutions and accelerators!)
  • Produce documentation to aid in the understanding of existing architecture solutions
  • Mentor CPQ Consultants, and other junior members across Thunder

Required Qualifications

  • 4-6+ years’ of consulting experience within the Salesforce partner/consulting ecosystem
  • 2+ years’ leading projects as a Solution Architect, with the capability of architecting solutions independently for a variety of clients (including complex, Enterprise engagements)
  • Significant experience with Salesforce suite of products, especially Revenue Cloud, Sales Cloud, Field Service, and/or Community Cloud
  • Required Salesforce Certifications:
    • CPQ Specialist
  • Nice to Have Certifications:
    • Revenue Cloud Accredited Professional (strongly preferred) 
    • Billing Specialist Superbadge (preferred)
    • Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge (preferred)
    • Industries CPQ Developer Certification (preferred)
    • Willingness to achieve additional certifications on emerging technologies as required per role
