How you can make an impact:

The Solution Architect will be responsible for driving the development of future services and aligning them with R&D and corporate IT.

As a member of the Service Innovation team, you will join the architecture board and make important design decisions for the services platform's technology. You will collaborate with internal and external developer teams and work closely with divisional and corporate departments to align roadmaps and integrate infrastructure.

Lead the technical evolution of digital services and implement global scaling concepts for the service platform.

This is not a typical solution architect role. Instead, it offers a chance to craft an architectural position in digital services, providing ample room for growth and personal development.

What you will do:

• Translate digital services business requirements into requirements and design of the end-to-end digital services platform.
• Design concepts that scale, define the roadmap and align with the relevant collaborators.
• Advise on make/buy decisions regarding technology.
• Delegate engineering tasks into Service Innovation development teams, including suppliers.
• Encourage collaboration and commonality on architectural level across departments and divisions (into ThermoFisher Centers of Excellence).
• Provide technical response and recommendations to Service Marketing requirements and Voice of Customer research.
• Coordinate Service development activities with relevant development teams in R&D and IT.
• Ensure a seamless integration with corporate information platforms.
• Build relations with existing and/or new suppliers, provide requirements and coordinate third party development activities.

How do you get there:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology/Computer Science.
• Proven ability working as an Architect (could be in Data, Infrastructure, SW or Application). Knowledge of TOGAF.
• Conceptual problem solver who can go into details where needed - can also make translation of concept to implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to craft sophisticated infrastructure solutions for global operation..
• Knowledge of database technologies and concepts especially focused towards large data concepts and tools.
• Proven understanding of cloud concepts, web-based applications and microservices.
• Knowledge of (or preferred experience in) information security concepts.
• Strong focus on quality, adaptability and maintainability of tooling and processes.
• Work experience in agile/SAFe development teams and DevOps or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility of mind to handle business dynamics and eagerness to learn new things.
• Have experience in high tech manufacturing and/or Service business.
• Knowledge of English in written and spoken form and experienced in working in international teams.
• Good communication and influencing skills.
