Primary Purpose:
Provides strategic support for sourcing and implementation efforts within one or more commodity category groups. Guides sourcing efforts to establish high quality, and cost effective strategic supplier relationships. Drives achievement of meaningful total cost, quality, and service goals across commodity categories.
Essential Functions:
Provides a proactive customer service experience to the internal supply chain customers.
Assist in the development of commodity level sourcing strategies intended to maximize overall value and cost reduction.
Assist in analyzing and comparing alternative sourcing strategies.
Provides sourcing support for various procurement projects within the company.
Acts as a key resource in negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
Supports the development of relationship potential and monitors supplier performance metrics.
Works closely with other purchasing personnel to provide other general procurement support for the company.
Drives process improvement and innovative thinking.
Ensures integrity of department's practices through the enforcement of relevant policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance, engineering or related field with 4 years' experience in a purchasing or finance discipline
OR Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field and 4 years' experience working in a clinical laboratory, medical device, healthcare environment or related environment including direct experience working and negotiating with Technical Sales Reps within the laboratory and or medical industries, leading project implementations of new testing platforms and equipment, working with Medical Directors or directly related environments helping to guide them through the supply chain landscape and vendor selection process
Or Associates degree in business, finance, or related field and 6 years' experience in a purchasing or finance discipline.
OR Associates degree and 6 years' experienceworking within a clinical laboratory, medical device, healthcare environment or related environment, including direct experience working and negotiating with Technical Sales Reps within the laboratory and or medical industries, leading project implementations of new testing platforms and equipment, working with Medical Directors or directly related environments helping to guide them through the supply chain landscape and vendor selection process
Or High School Diploma and 8 years of purchasing experience with strategic sourcing teams, developing alliances, and managing suppliers, contract management and cost reduction negotiation experience with proven results
