Overview of the role
Under the supervision of the Director, Tax Accounting and Canadian Taxation, you will participate in Canadian tax compliance activities and Canadian tax provisions. You will also participate in several other projects in Canadian and international taxation.
You will be part of an experienced global team of approximately 20 tax professionals. Your role will lead you to work in collaboration with the various Saputo departments, including accounting, legal, capital project management, evaluation, human resources, etc. As part of the preparation of claims relating to the investment and innovation tax credit, SR&ED credits and other credits and subsidies, you will be called upon to understand the company's activities, visit factories and participate in discussions with tax authorities as part of audits.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:Â
Preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision
• Prepare and analyze the tax provisions of Canadian entities;
• Monitor tax continuity tables by legal entity (deposit, provision, notice of assessment, etc.);
Preparing Canadian tax returns
• Prepare/review Canadian tax returns (T2, T5013) and underlying forms (T106, T1134, T1135, etc.);
• Prepare and analyze the financial component of claims for the tax credit for investments and innovation, SR&ED credits and other provincial credits.
Support for tax audits
• Work with team members in the context of various tax audits of Canadian and international activities;
• Prepare/Review analyzes required for government audits.
Other tax projects
• Reorganization and internal tax structure;
• Support for fundraising activities;
• Research, analysis and drafting of tax memos for various files and special projects;
• Ensure the updating of tax attributes (PBR, protected income, paid-up capital, surplus, etc.);
• Interpret and monitor developments in taxation and changes to tax legislation;
• Provide any other support to the tax department.
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:Â
- CPA Canada in-depth tax course completed or in the process of being completed, or master’s degree in taxation
- CPA Certification
- For the Manager, Tax (or called Specialist internally) level, we are looking for someone with 5 to 6 years of tax experience in an accounting firm or a combination of experience in an accounting firm and a multinational company
- We are also open to candidates with 2 to 4 years of experience directly related to the position. The job title will then be Senior Advisor, Taxation.

SALARY RANGEÂ : $97,155 - $127,520
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.Â
