Sr. API Developer

Overview

End-to-End API delivery which includes planning, design, development, testing, and delivery of APIs. Design and implement Apigee Edge suite of products. Implement API management solutions using Apigee to include API proxies, security, and analytics. Design and develop REST APIs using API Management platform and micro services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC. Implement requirements of the API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request, and response modifications using the API management platform. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment automation pipelines. Create custom policies in Java, JavaScript in the API management platform. Implement API monitoring and system support for production application services client facing environments. Design and implementation of the API developer portal backend services using micro services and SQL query language. May work remotely pursuant to First Citizens' Remote Work Guidelines policy. The position is eligible for variable compensation which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, or a related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, or a related occupation.

Position requires experience in API Design and Development. Requires understanding of REST API design standards. Requires experience in API Management and API Gateway platforms like Apigee and Mulesoft. Requires experience in Javascript for developing custom scripts. Requires experience developing micro services using Java, SpringBoot, and Spring MVC. Requires experience in developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment automation pipelines. Requires experience in building SQL queries for relational databases like Postgres. May work remotely pursuant to First Citizens' Remote Work Guidelines policy. This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

The base pay for this position is generally between $154,877 and $184,877. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
