The Sr. Events Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of AppFolio's hosted proprietary events. You will be an expert in managing a wide range of event types, with a particular focus on large-scale conferences, and a range of experience in other proprietary or marquee events.

Your impact
  • End-to-end planning, scaling, and executing AppFolio's hosted proprietary/marquee events. 
  • Lead the strategic planning and creative development of a diverse range of events, including large-scale paid conferences and flagship events.
  • Deliver extraordinary events and create memorable experiences that position AppFolio's events as best-in-class.
  • Shape the future of AppFolio’s events strategy with a focus on reimagining and evolving our events to be the best in the industry. 
  • Manage complex event workflows, from ideation through execution, ensuring all elements are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to define event objectives and outcomes, aligning event strategies with AppFolio’s growth and brand vision.
Qualifications
  • Seamlessly collaborate across the organization, from executive leadership to third-party vendors, ensuring alignment.
  • Extensive experience with conferences & marquee events that host 5,000+ attendees.
  • Expertise in  budget management including revenue modeling and a guru in negotiating contracts with vendors, hotels, 3rd party event partners. 
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders, clearly articulating event strategies, plans, and outcomes.  
  • Develop scalable plans and presentations that align with our evolving events portfolio. 
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization to ensure desired outcomes of the event.
  • Knowledge of event techstack (i.e., Salesforce, Airtable, Tableau, Cvent, or similar).
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite.
Must have
  • 8-10+ years in event marketing and conference management, with extensive experience leading large user conferences, and proprietary or flagship events with 5,000 or more attendees.
  • Demonstrate high levels of strategic thinking, tactical execution, and innovative approaches while maintaining a fun and engaging style.
  • Experience in people management or mentoring, fostering growth, and developing teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational acumen, and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful problem-solver, with the ability to navigate complex situations.
  • A proven track record in dynamic, fast-paced environments and bring a positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Lead with empathy and expertise, inspiring teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Must be able to travel 25-30% of the time.
  • BA/BS degree or higher is preferred. 
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $104,600 to $130,000.
The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc. 

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
