Sr Lead Software Engineer

The Sr. Lead Software Engineer:

• Has extensive experience and comfort mentoring other developers.
• Has established mastery of one or more complex core technologies, including the patterns, practices, and tooling to support that technology. (Asynchronous messaging technologies is a must for us).
• Has established a track record of not only sharing your specific expertise with developers in your team, but also with developers outside of your organization (brown bags / lunch and learns).
• Serves as a "technology enabler" when a new technology fast start is required; Quickly and efficiently absorbs the fundamentals of a new core technology; Quickly identifies the strengths / weaknesses (limitations) of a core technology and advises technology decision makers on both; Quickly prototypes a thin slice implementation to prove out the required fitness of a new core technology; Distills and transfers the knowledge needed for a developer to get started on the new core technology.
• Designs and develops code that consistently adheres to good programming practices and has experience passing on that knowledge to less senior developers.
• Adheres to "infrastructure as code" principals and CI/CD best practices
• Enhances the performance and reliability of our current solutions
• Influences technical solutioning discussions
• Evangelizes new ideas within your team as well as across scrum teams
• Lives by Agile (particularly Scrum) principles and collaborate with team members using Agile techniques including test driven development, code reviews, and retrospectives

• Self-motivated, with the drive to excel and exceed commitments. You thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere where wearing multiple hats is encouraged. You have strong collaboration/communication skills, as you will be a member of a scrum team consisting of other software engineers and a product owner who are intensely collaborating in meaningful way. You are team oriented. You provide leadership in designing solutions as well as mentoring more junior developers and collaborating with peers.

Technologies We Use:

• Languages and Libraries: C# / .NET, ASP.NET,
• AWS Services: Amazon Route 53, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Step Function
• Messaging Platforms: Amazon EventBridge (2023 Q1), Kafka (2024)
• Database: DynamoDB, Aurora (future)

Minimum Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of work related experience.
• Mastery of designing and implementing high volume asynchronous messaging solutions (Kafka or EventBridge preferred).
• Mastery of asynchronous messaging patterns and practices.
• Experience provisioning an asynchronous messaging platform via Infrastructure as Code.
• Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
• Expertise in resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways. Fully familiar with recognized industry bodies of knowledge both generic and specific.
