POSITION OVERVIEW:

This will be a key role in our company-wide program office that supports the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. The Snr Project Manager, GBS Enablement will lead the execution of transitions, migrations, business integrations, process improvements, change and transformation programs of Technical/IT nature. The Project Manager will also be leading all aspects of project portfolios and ensure successful delivery of portfolio goals.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Leads cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams, to achieve desired outcomes
  • Champions collaboration across horizontal workstreams and geographies, seniority levels effectively leading diverse teams, owns interdependencies
  • Influences key customers to ensure timely and quality program implementation across workstreams and businesses
  • Develops relationships within the company to complete assigned projects through effective communication with key partners
  • Drives breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views, promoting innovative and collaborative problem-solving approaches through driving feasibility studies, targeted content deep dive sessions in order to translate customer requirements into the future state
  • Defines and maintaining scope of work, goals, budget, headcount requirements and key landmarks with full scale project plan, defines project resource requirements and allocation
  • Owns periodic project plan assessments a to ensure readiness and quality of the projects
  • Assumes overall responsibility of complex projects regardless scope (business transformations, automations, system implementations, migrations, transitions, process reengineering, etc),
  • Drives project requirements, deliverables and progress throughout the project's lifecycle with Business, Operational teams, IT and any other functions.
  • Employs fit-for-purpose methodologies and using appropriate strategies to achieve project scope in a timely manner, with quality and within budget
  • Responsible for identifying and handling interdependencies, risks, issues, actions, facilitate decision-making related to complexities through applying effective risk management strategies
  • Owns critical path processes aiming to find mitigation strategies, removes barriers of execution.
  • Ownership of project status, communicate to senior customers
  • Owns clear communication of project outcomes (risks, issues, actions, and decisions), lead Steering Committee discussions
  • Is responsible for complex portfolio of projects, manages project changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on track, acts as single source of truth for the overall health and savings pipeline
  • Builds a strong team of highly skilled and motivated people

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably business related
  • Project Management certification highly desirable (PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc)
  • Experience in Agile project management is highly desirable
  • 10+ years of solid experience managing complex, global programs and project initiatives
  • Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory), Customer Service and/or Procurement is a must
  • GBS experience is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year programs with IT and technical nature
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)

  • Decision-making: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with capacity to weigh the broader consequences of various actions
  • High level of emotional intelligence to understand team dynamics and manage interpersonal relationships effectively
  • Good planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive information in line with confidentiality expectations
