JOB DESCRIPTION:

The PeriOperative Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the creation and support of technical and business-related specifications pertaining to interdisciplinary workflow changes with the introduction of new revenue cycle applications. This position is visible to the hospital’s business service lines and serves as a liaison between IT and those groups. This position is responsible for independently providing business requirements in support of application(s) configuration to enhance department’s operational efficiencies/ workflow needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with users to understand and document business requirements. Assist in the translation of the business requirements into configurable system changes.
  • Possess functional knowledge of assigned application technology.
  • Create/participate in the creation of the functional specification.
  • Participates in the design of business workflow in conjunction with the business units; workflows will focus on improving efficiencies, solving complex workflow issues and incorporating quality initiatives.
  • Responsible to manage time effectively, meets deadlines, and achieves established goals and objectives
  • Performs needs assessment, Design, Implementation, Support, and Reporting.
  • Coordinates and participates in unit and integrated testing activities of the software to ensure that the design objectives are met.
  • Identifies testing scenarios and co-develops test scripts
  • Develops an understanding of departments’ business processes.
  • Identifies and analyzes moderately complex issues and brings problem to resolution.
  • Ensures a high-documentation standard for requirements, based on corporate guidelines.
  • Co-leads escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources
  • Participates in application upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and support efforts.
  • Supports troubleshooting inbound/outbound interfaces, as appropriate.
  • Creates and maintains appropriate system documentation.
  • Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals needed to support the product
  • Collaborates with other application and clinical analysts to ensure system integrations are appropriately documented.
  • Participates in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.
  • Utilizes and maintains appropriate document change control procedures and standards.
  • Elicit and document business, stakeholder, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Lead meetings with cross-functional teams.


TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated ability of managing business and functional documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with various position levels within an organization.
  • Desired knowledge of SIS (Surgical Information Systems), ASM (Allscripts -formerly McKesson’s HSM and PHS) and Cerner (Soarian).
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry would be beneficial.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical Thinker.
  • Knowledge of Business and Functional Requirements based on PMI principles.
  • Project Management experience desired.

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering; and 3-4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience Required:

  • 5 – 7 years related work experience.

Salary Range

$100,000—$120,000 USD
