Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS), a division of Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) based in Goleta, CA, has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Reliability Engineer.

RVS strives to be the most admired firm in the industry for discriminating focal plane arrays. RVS has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced professional to develop and implement program reliability requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle. This individual will serve as program lead for Reliability.

• Optimize new and current designs for improved reliability.
• Improve product reliability through analysis of field samples and vendor data, statistical analysis and design changes.
• Provide Reliability Engineering support to design engineering teams.
• Diagnose product issues with customers, suppliers and representatives and provide innovative solutions.
• Utilize statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis to predict product failure rates and quantify improvement activities.
• Serve as a consultant to broaden deployment of Reliability tools at Raytheon Vision Systems.
• Establish methods for early indicators of warranty problems and lead failure investigations.
• Develop test methods to simulate field environment.
• Develop product reliability goals and processes to achieve them such as product duty cycles, and design goals.
• Support and Develop design guidelines for product reliability.
• Participate in design, FMEA, and product development gate reviews.
• Review product reliability targets and test results to confirm reliability.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will require the ability to access U.S. only data systems.

Required Skills

• Five years work experience with Reliability Modeling and Predictions.
• Working experience with Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
• Working experience with Parts & Material Processes.
• Working experience with Root Cause & Correct Action (RCCA).
• Strong problem-solving skills utilizing data to support problem resolution.
• Able to work independently and proactively without direct supervision.
• Able to lead multiple projects concurrently.
• Knowledge of product development systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.
• Excellent people skills including team building and leadership abilities.

Desired Skills

• Semiconductor processing knowledge
• Device Failure Analysis Skills
• Trained in the Six Sigma Methodology or equivalent statistical analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Design for (X).
• Knowledge and experience with Reliability software packages: ReliaSoft or MiniTab.

Education

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Advance Degree in lieu of experience.
