Responsibilities:
The Scientist - Technical Services Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) will support production of Insulin Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient manufactured within the Indianapolis Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (IAPI) manufacturing site in order to achieve the reliable and compliant manufacture of bulk drug substance to predetermined global quality standards. The position requires working cross-functionally within a team and site in order to deliver technical objectives, production business plans, and quality objectives.
- Understand the scientific principles required for manufacturing intermediates and bulk drug substances, including the interaction of the chemistry and equipment.
- Provide technical support to non-routine (e.g., deviation) investigations including evaluating materials from production in laboratory analysis to ensure no impact to Product Quality.
- Participate in development and implementation of process improvement, including capital expansions and technical projects.
- Work within cross-functional teams in a positive fashion to implement TS/MS objectives and deliver on business plan and quality objectives.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's required or equivalent in scientific disciplines, of Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
Additional Preferences:
- Additional relevant industrial experience in any of the following associated disciplines such as Protein Manufacturing, Development, and Quality Control is desirable.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment

- Technical leadership, administrative and organizational skills
- Builds relationships with internal and external customers and partners
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively across functional groups and stakeholders

- Demonstrated ability to learn & apply technical/scientific knowledge
Additional Information:
- Minimal travel (< 10%) may be required
- Some off-shift work (night/weekend) may be required to support 24/7 operations
