Sr. Billing Specialist

As a Senior Billing Specialist, critical components of the job include sales contract review for billing and revenue implications, contract entry into the billing system and invoice creation and analysis. A strong foundation and experience in working with billing and/or financial systems is preferred. In addition, this position will require excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under deadlines. This role works as a member of the Accounting team, and collaborates closely with Sales, Revenue, and the wider Accounts Receivable team. A day in the life!

You will be responsible for the following:

• Review contracts and ensure clients are properly set up and invoiced in the ERP system.
• Ensure that billing is set up correctly allowing for proper Revenue Recognition.
• Address and handle non-standard, complex billing specifically including Professional Services billing.
• Work across departments to research and resolve escalated client disputes and billing exceptions.
• Own multiple month end reconciliations and otherwise assist with close of financial periods.
• Drive process improvements including working with business partners and other departments.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration
• 3+ years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, Contracts, or Billing
• Proficient in Excel, such as V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
• Able to work in fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Interest and aptitude to work with high volume of data processing. Able to function independently as well as within a team effectively.
• Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills
• Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendations.
• Excellent Oral and written communication skills
• Technical aptitude 
• Must be based in Overland Park, KS area

Do you stand above the rest?

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with large ERP systems (Great Plains, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct)
• SalesForce experience a plus
