Job Description

We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Sr. Manager, Accounting to join our team working for a dynamic company in a fast-paced environment. This position will ensure compliance with accounting standards, manage a team, and take a hands-on approach to our accounting operations. In addition to the day-to-day accounting responsibilities, this position will also work closely with management in a variety of ways to support segments and business units.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Lead, manage, and oversee an accounting department
  • Perform monthly accounting and close procedures along with the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure account balances are accurately stated
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes to consistently improve accuracy and efficiency of processing transactions while improving internal controls
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Provide support and inputs for quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Develop, analyze, and present reports to management
  • Manage projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and/or MBA highly preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience with evidence of assuming roles of greater complexity, responsibility and accountability
  • Manufacturing / heavy industry experience preferred
  • Cost accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with acquisitions and divestitures a plus
  • Comprehensive experience in financial accounting and reporting
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal accounting controls
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude with team oriented, collaborative working style
  • Advanced Excel ability required
  • SAP and Hyperion experience required
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

The compensation range for this position is approximately $125,000 - $172,000 and will be based on the candidate's qualification, experience, and education
