Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Full-time Staff Accountant to join our accounting team who is career-minded and looking to join a company where they can excel and build their accounting skill set and knowledge base as they grow in their career. 

The position is available to someone who has a strong understanding of accounting basics and fundamentals. Full-charge bookkeeping is a plus. You must have mastery of your debits and credits. An understanding of the basics of how the GL and the trial balance flow up to the financial statements. Strong command of the workings of the balance sheet and income statement, account reconciliations, as well as the day-to-day duties of a full charge bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be strong in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks and will be capable of demonstrating this during the interview. We will provide the industry expertise, but we want you to have the basic skillsets needed to perform the job.

In addition to basic bookkeeping and staff accountant duties, this position will assist with financial reporting and the month-end close duties. You will gain valuable insight into the accounting process through your daily exposure and interaction with our Controller.

Job Duties / Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Daily Cash account reconciliations
• Calculate and prepare journal entries in the general ledger
• Document all incoming ACH and credit card payments
• Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable
• Securely maintain financial records and documents
• Projects as assigned by the Controller
• Prepare and distribute daily cash report
• Set up wires
• Book and record lease transactions
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with monthly close
• Reporting (as assigned)
• Other Accounting tasks (as assigned)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (Finance, Economics, etc.)
• 2+ years of Accounting experience
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus
• Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
• High attention to detail
• Results-driven with exceptional organizational skills

• Ability to interact easily with all levels of management, cross-functional teams, and clients
