Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Systems Engineer for Precision Upgrades located in Des Moines, IA, you will:
- Lead the engineering and implementation of advanced technologies on Deere and non-Deere equipment through a rapid 1-year design/development cycle.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions while only influencing without direct authority.
- Communicate directly with dealers and customers (internal and external) on technical topics in a non-technical fashion.
- Utilize critical problem-solving and investigative capability to diagnose and rectify machine issues directly as well as remotely

What Skills You Need
- 5 or more year's of experience understanding the engineering and application of complex multi-disciplinary systems to solve agricultural and/or construction-related tasks
- 5 or more year's of experience in engineering complex machine systems
- 5 or more years of extended experience with design systems including Creo, PDM, SAP, etc
- 5 or more years of in-depth experience with application equipment working in an engineering role with knowledge of customer usage, machine function, and theory of operation
- 3 or more years of directly leading an engineering team in a focused functional area (i.e. hydraulics, electrical, or structural)
- 3 or more years leading PDP projects or significant CI projects from initiation to full production
- Capability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions while only influencing without direct authority
- Strong ability to communicate directly with dealers and customers on technical topics in a non-technical fashion
- Critical problem-solving and investigative capability to diagnose and rectify machine issues directly as well as remotely
- Ability to travel up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in a cross-functional (hardware, software, manufacturing, order fulfillment, product support) team experience
- Practice developing Product Verification and Validation plans
- Tracking continuous improvement change requests, work completion, and implementation dates
- Experience working in global design development teams
- Capability to share product knowledge with and develop teammates
- Familiarity with Deere machines in operational or manufacturing environment
- Creativity to deliver new products to customers utilizing non-traditional Deere processes
- Understanding of design for assembly methodologies
- Developing engineering designs in a modular manner to enhance kitting and business efficiencies
Education
Advanced Technical Degrees or Certificates preferred Education:
- Must have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5 or more years' experience or equivalent work-related experience
