Job Scope

The IoT MultiMedia Division at Synaptics delivers advanced media processing technology solutions for AI, video and audio applications for the home entertainment market. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to join the Edge SoC Silicon Engineering Team in the MultiMedia Group that develops Set-top-box, streaming media and Edge AI products.

Job Description



As a member of the design verification team, the responsibilities for this position includes functional verification at a block level, subsystem and full-chip using advance verification techniques including HW assisted verification using emulation platforms.

Besides functional simulation-based verification, the candidate will be responsible for doing the following:

• Designing & Developing testbench building blocks using System Verilog/SV-DPI/UVM methodology
• Understanding design microarchitecture and writing test plans, developing tests and coverage metrics
• Gate level simulations
• Coming up with design automation techniques for increasing execution efficiency
• Pre-silicon validation on emulation platforms

Requirements

Minimum 8-12 year of relevant experience in SoC verification i.e. developing verification components, preparing and executing test plan for complex Video, Imaging and/or Audio IPs.

Good understanding and working experience in HVL (SystemVerilog, SystemC), HDL (Verilog), C/C++ and scripts (perl, shell). Knowledge and hands on experience in Industry Standard Verification Methodologies e.g UVM.

At least 5 years working experience in verification/design of Image/Video Processing, Video/Audio Interface (HDMI, MIPI DSI, MIPI CSI-2, DisplayPort etc.) Video Decode/Encode and/or compression/de-compression IPs.

Hands on experience in Industry standard simulation & debugging tools i.e. Questa/VCS and Verdi etc.

Working experience and good understanding of state of art verification technologies i.e. coverage and assertion based, formal verification and HW assisted verification.

Good understanding of SoC buses i.e. AHB, AXI or similar buses .

Excellent debugging and analytical abilities.

Qualifications



B.E/B. Tech/M. Tech (ECE or Computer Science) with 8-12 years SOC/IP design/verification experience.
