What will you be doing?

The Strategic Program Manager will manage customer-specific programs to ensure implementation and execution of prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and grow Velocity’s corporate customer programs.
  • Establish plans and strategies to expand Velocity’s customer programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team and Product Management Team to create and execute sales enablement programs, analyze performance and identify improvement opportunities .

In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be expected to:

  • Manage and facilitate all program-related activities, including sales, sourcing, analysis, customer relationship management, storage, logistics and throughput.
  • Qualify and thoroughly understand valid business opportunities.
  • Consistently deliver on monthly and quarterly sales and inventory metrics.
  • Represent and communicate Velocity's culture, values, and value proposition.
  • Provide immediate and reliable solutions to customer needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales data including contracts, quotations, rebates, customer interactions, etc. – annotating all customer touches in Velocity's ERP system.
  • Strict program management of all VMI customer contracts utilizing Velocity's ERP system, when required.
  • Oversee open order reports daily to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Maintain appropriate/agreed inventory levels; manage aged inventory.
  • Manage customer escalations; include Velocity personnel, as required.
  • Identify and close shortage requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with specific suppliers.
Education, Experience and Knowledge

Required Education

  • 4-year college degree

Preferred Education

  • 4-year B.S. or Masters’ degree 

Required Experience

  • 5-7+ years sales experience and/or sales program management in the electronic components industry

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years program management and sales experience in the independent distribution industry
