Job Description
As a Supply Chain Associate, you will perform a variety of physical, clerical and customer support tasks associated with distribution, materials handling, inventory control and instrument logistics.
This is a First shift position: Monday-Friday, 10A-6:30p.
What you will do:
- Pick, pack, load and ship products to national and international customers and distribution centers. Perform accurate receipt, material storage and handling of inventory
- Prepare documentation and products, ensures accuracy of documentation and shipments, and troubleshoots and resolves issues as required
- Use automated systems to record transactions including receiving, picking, material movements and replenishments, and shipping/PGI
- Ensure inventories are accurate by batch and location through accurate reporting, picking, replenishment and data entry
- Investigate and resolves inventory inaccuracies and provides root cause analysis and recommendations for process improvements as required
- Support inventory processes, solutions and strategies for the continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and order fulfillment quality; includes cycle counts, data entry, tracking, reconciling, documenting and reporting
- May act as a technical resource within the department and serve as operating expert in the work area
- Move and store equipment, raw materials and inventory for internal and external customers
- Responsible for cross-training in all departmental functions and responsibilities within distribution, as required. Functional areas include Picking (Multi-climate Area), Packing (Line), Shipping (Line), Receiving, Replenishment, LTL Shipping/Distribution Consolidation, Bulk Pack/Ship Station, International Packing, Distributor Packing, and Kit Build
- Responsible for understanding, familiarity and competency of IDEXX products and Lines of Business (LOB) to ensure accuracy in filling customer orders.
- May assist with development and updates of SOPs and ensure SOPs are followed
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe warehouse and inventory handling area
- Maintain a safe working environment, utilize all applicable safety equipment and comply with established safety policies, departmental procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- May assist in cycle counts as required and perform other duties as assigned
What you will bring: High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred. Ability to work well under pressure and tight time constraints. Effectively function in a team environment and with minimum supervision required. Ability to work independently. Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Good computer skills and knowledge including SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Ability work flexible hours. Able to follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable ISO regulations. For distribution and material handling work: Certificate to operate a forklift may be required; certificate to work with hazardous materials may be required; knowledge of export documentation and international traffic may be required; previous experience with dangerous goods is preferred; knowledge of customs rules, regulations and export documentation preferred. Has prior relevant training or experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Able to properly lift up to 70 pounds; ability to move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Warehouse-type environment. Normal warehouse environment where protective clothing may be required. Moderate to high noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
