This manager will research, develop, and implement practical environmental stewardship strategies that support Ochsner's sustainability goals. The role will provide critical coordination across the various related strategies, internal departments and in collaboration with community partners.

The manager will coordinate scheduling, communication, multi-disciplinary teams, vendor management, and performance of strategic sustainability programs. Identifies and resolves issues related to programs. Ensures programs are delivered within scope, schedule, and quality levels are consistent with stakeholder expectations. Acts as an advisor to leadership and program team regarding project work organization, change management, and tasks with minimal direct supervision.

The position will offer substantial opportunities for learning, exposure, leadership development and growth.

Candidate must live within a 3 hour drive of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, health science or related field.

Preferred - Master's degree in engineering, business administration, finance, public health, health care administration or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 7 years of project management, change management, and/or process improvement experience in relevant field such as healthcare strategy, operations, finance, industrial engineering, and/or organizational development. Preferred - Experience in environmental stewardship focused in the healthcare industry.

Certifications

Required - None

Preferred - Experience with general sustainability certifications

Preferred - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Change Agent, or AGILE Project Management)

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent judgement, decision making and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills and ability to use a logical through process to formulate practical solutions to problems.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and professionally work with people from all backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities.

Job Duties
  • Formulates, organizes and monitors inter-connected projects in conjunction with complex and strategic teams.
  • Works in tandem with relevant leadership and executives on decisions and strategies as they correlate to the program
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors project managers and other staff.
  • Develops and supports the control of deadlines, budgets and communication activities.
  • Manages the escalation of high priority risk mitigation and change management.
  • Develops high visibility project presentations as needed.
  • Supports leadership in resource assignment(s) to projects and aids in the evaluation of project managers.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
