System Test Lead

POSITION SUMMARY

Join BorgWarner to help accelerate the world's transition to hybrid and electric vehicles. You will be part of a diverse, fast-paced and dynamic team developing products to support BorgWarner's vision of a clean, energy-efficient world. As a System Test Lead, you will be responsible for managing the functional, reliability and environmental testing of high voltage automotive products including high voltage coolant heaters for Electrical Vehicles and Hybrid Electric Vehicles. As part of Emissions, Thermal & Turbo Systems, you will lead a cross-functional global team (primarily USA, Spain, Germany, China) in the testing, and validation of products for OEM customers.

Key responsibilities

• Definition of the test strategy at system level and system integration level according to the V-model product development lifecycle
• Integration of the components test strategy into the overall test strategy.
• Planning, coordination and tracking of required system tests (incl. resource availability)
• Planning, coordination and tracking of evidence of compliance to system requirements outside of testing.
• Regression test planning
• Coordination of testing with the customer
• Continuous presentation of test status (e. g. requirements coverage and test reports) to internal and external stakeholders
• Coordination of test strategy regarding Functional Safety and Cybersecurity
• Participation in the implementation of relevant quality processes (IATF16949, ISO 26262 and IEC 21434)
• Compliance with work safety regulations

Other support activities

• Support in the development and tracking of DFMEAs and DVPRs
• Work as part of the global development team on testing of products and documenting lessons learned.
• Participate in problem resolution teams to solve issues in design and test.
• Support for definition and execution of tests at the system level

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or automotive engineering/mechatronics or equivalent
• Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle industry

Required Skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills
• Experience in test management and/or project management
• Knowledge of system development in the product life cycle (System, Integration, HW and SW)
• Experience in DVP&R creation and tracking
• Experience and knowledge in the IATF16949 procedure

Desired Skills

• Experience in Automotive SPICE
• Experience with performing DFMEA
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Polarion, Visure)
• Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira, ClearCase)
• Experience with Functional Safety
• Experience with Cybersecurity
• Experience working with high voltage
• Experience with programming languages (LabVIEW, C++)
• Experience with electronic test tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
• Experience with vehicle networks and tools (LIN, CAN, Vector CANoe,, etc.)
