What We're Doing

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work

As the Systems Test Engineer, you will: • Provide testing support at various hardware in the loop test venues (both program and government venues), and at remote sites for Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS)• Execute system test to ensure defects have not been introduced into hardware and software during transportation, installation and connectivity• Ensure hardware and software function together at various sites as they did in the development laboratory.

This position requires the ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support business (Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii). Huntsville, AL is the Primary Work Location (when not on travel).

Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance required with ability to obtain & maintain Top Secret Clearance with SCI

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and minimum of 2 years' related experience, or a Master's Degree and 0 years' related experience. • Security Plus Certification• Recent experience (hands on within the last 1 year) testing software and hardware for performance and functionality based on core functionality and requirements• Recent experience (hands on within the last 1 year) with software and hardware test planning, monitoring, and test execution• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support business (Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii)• Able to demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills• Familiar with reading, writing, and execution of test case procedures• Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance• Ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI

Desired skills

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $67,400 - $129,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,600 - $146,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
