Tax Accounting Cooperative Education January-June

Qualifications:

The student would be expected to complete initial assignments with moderate supervision. As the internship experience progresses, the student should be able to perform basic assignments with minimal supervision. Student should have strong desire to pursue a career in Public Accounting. Strong computer skills including Excel are required. Student must have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered.

Co-Op Responsibilities:

• The co-op will gain hands-on experience in public accounting by developing technical skills through working as part of a dedicated team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision.
• Assist with preparing individual, corporate, partnership and not-for-profit tax returns to meet government requirements and deadlines
• Develop working knowledge of tax preparation software used at the firm • Perform other accounting duties as assigned to meet client expectations
• Shadow staff, seniors and managers
• Clearly document procedures performed using relevant software

Casual dress code (jeans and sneakers permitted) with a relaxed working atmosphere. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm. (Saturdays are optional) Duration is Jan 2024 - June 2024. Pay rate is $20-$25 per hour based on prior experience.
