Summary of Role:

The Chief of Staff works with and reports directly to the Department Head, relaying messages and ideas from other senior executive leaders to improve the internal functions and processes of the department. This position works closely with the Operations Director, Resource Manager and the entire leadership team. The Chief of Staff works proactively and able to collaborate and identify priorities while driving projects to completion.


Must be an innovative and results driven thinker, an excellent problem solver and possess top notch interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across the enterprise at all levels with respect that represents the department leaders well. The ideal candidate will also be qualified to project manage key activities and events that involve all members of the department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help oversee projects of high importance as directed by Department Lead
  • Manage calendar and ensure deadlines are being met
  • Oversee the effective management of the department calendar of events
  • Organize and coordinate select activities
  • Project manage department initiatives and guide to completion
  • Serve as an advisor on solving challenges encountered by Department Head
  • Work with and/or lead cross-functional team initiatives and projects
  • Assist with internal communications and develop materials (PPT, excel, Word fluency)
  • Possess the ability to have good enterprise-wide relationships
  • Build strong relationships with employees and serve as a liaison between department leadership and the team
  • Attend department meetings, maintain excellent records and notes, and ensure follow up and accountability relating to meeting action items.

GHJ complies with all local/state regulations in regards to displaying salary ranges. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. At GHJ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $95,000-$105,000.
