Team Lead, AAV Core

Role

The Team Lead of AAV Core will coordinate the demand and supply of AAV material generation. This team within Technical Development will enable prioritized research and process development studies, DC enabling studies and IND supporting studies for the company. They will drive piloting new and emerging technologies as needed to augment the established small and medium scale AAV manufacturing protocols and analytical assays. They will play a key role to drive strategies to optimize inventory, to establish appropriate scheduling, establish efficient processes and procedures including defining data management, report writing, and documentation for important large scale studies, and manage a team of scientists and engineers. This is a great opportunity to develop and mentor a high-performing team of scientists, contribute with hands-on work to instruct and build the necessary skills within the group while leading day-to-day group activities including timeline and budget management and objective setting and execution.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish AAV material generation strategy across portfolio projects
• Ensure consistent material generation supporting aligned priorities
• Ensure consistent AAV vector analytical data generation supporting aligned priorities
• Write and review technical documents including ELN entries, work instructions, SOPs, technical reports
• Manage demand planning, raw material inventory, batch scheduling, and routine activities through the team
• Develop and report out monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor process and operational performance
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering with relevant (>5 years) industry experience. Prior experience with Cellular Therapy product development is highly desirable
• Prior experience with material generation and oversight of others’ work expected
• Management, mentoring and development experience
• Demonstrated capabilities to lead initiatives independently (inventory management, demand and supply planning)
• Excellent communication skills
• Independently motivated, detailed oriented and a good problem-solving ability
• Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others, influence, and negotiate difficult situations
• Hire and mentor staff and champion inclusive culture
