Location/Division Specific Information

The QC Physiochemistry and Raw Materials team, located in Woolloongabba Brisbane, plays an integral role in the production and disposition of pharmaceuticals at our site.

About the Role:

Our team is responsible for ensuring the completion of qualification/validation protocols, batch release and stability testing. We are a quickly expanding site with ever growing opportunities. What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for day to day management of the Quality Control Physiochemistry and Raw Materials team, including planning of activities and resources, execution of analysis. Peer review and technical review of analyses for completeness and cGMP compliance.
  • Ensure raw materials are QC released for use in operations, adhering to pharmacopoeial standards and strict timelines and deliverable dates.
  • Participate in internal and external client and regulatory audits, acting as an SME and competently representing all functions of the team.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the team, ensuring a high level of analytical quality. Leads, manage the performance of the team through effective key performance indicators, targets and goal setting.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology, Chemistry, or closely related degree). Post Graduate qualifications - beneficial.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of industry work experience in a leadership capacity and 3-5 years' industry work experience within the biopharmaceutical and/or pharmaceutical industry preferably aligned to the Analytical and Quality Control fields.
  • A strong background in analytical theory and technical proficiency with laboratory analysis.
  • Experience interpreting and applying cGMP principles, strong attention to detail, and accurate completion of test records. Strives for right first time in every task undertaken.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in cGMP practices.
  • Ability to work dynamically, running multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly skilled in operating in a frequently changing environment with a wide variety of people and perspectives. Capable of optimally communicating in multiple modalities (e.g. electronic, written, verbal, etc.)
