What Problem(s) Does This Role Solve?
We are currently in the initial stages of developing our product lines which include paddles balls apparel bags and accessories. Communicating effectively with manufacturers is crucial during this process. However providing clear instructions can be challenging often leading to prolonged sampling feedback loops and increased costs.
Currently we only use a graphic designer and lack the experience in design to effectively express our ideas in a way that manufacturers can understand. This results in numerous iterations high sample costs and long lead times before a product is ready for production.
To address this we believe hiring a Technical Apparel Designer will be beneficial. This designer can create detailed tech packs for both new and existing products helping us reduce testing and sampling expenses. Moreover someone with the skills and experience to visualize our ideas in 3D communicate those ideas in detail down to the cut and materials and contribute their own creative ideas will allow us to develop higher quality products faster and with less initial cost.
Role Overview :
As a Technical Apparel Designer at PickleBali you will be responsible for creating detailed technical designs and tech packs for our apparel line. You will work closely with our team and manufacturers to develop high-quality products that meet our brand standards. Your role will involve designing innovative and functional sportswear that not only looks great but also performs well on the court.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design 2D and/or 3D Mockups and Tech Packs for sports equipment and apparel including but not limited to:
- Tops
- Bottoms
- Hats
- Socks
- Bags
- Accessories
- Sports Equipment
- Paddles (Padel Pickleball)
- Balls
- Paddle Accessories
- Packaging & Labels
- Develop comprehensive tech packs for apparel including 2D and 3D renderings technical drawings measurements material specifications and construction details.
- Collaborate with the product development team to create designs that align with PickleBali’s brand identity and vision.
- Source and select appropriate materials and fabrics considering performance durability and aesthetics.
- Communicate directly with overseas manufacturers to ensure clear understanding of design specifications and requirements.
- Review and evaluate samples providing detailed feedback and suggestions for improvements.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from internal reviews and testing ensuring the final products meet quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in sports apparel design to bring fresh ideas and improvements to our product line.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical apparel design preferably in sportswear or activewear.
- ** Proficiency in Tech Packs Graphic Design Fashion Design
- Strong understanding of garment construction pattern making and textile properties.
- Experience in creating detailed tech packs and communicating with manufacturers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for sports particularly pickleball is a plus.
- 3D Design Skills is a huge bonus
