As a full-time Unreal Engine Fortnite Creative (UEFN) Technical Artist, you will be instrumental in breathing life into the unique and immersive experiences SuperJoy Studios creates for its worldwide player base! In this role your focus will be to ensure all visuals are of the highest artistic quality. You can be confident in your accomplishments when the feature you developed captivates players with breathtaking visuals, while maintaining exceptional performance at the forefront.
Working both independently and collaboratively as part of a highly-skilled UEFN team endemic to the Fortnite Creative space will utilize your exceptional interpersonal and time management skills in this fast-paced environment. Primary Functions
- Work closely with the Art, Design and Development team to construct and implement game assets and features in UEFN.Â
- Closely review client and branding requirements to develop superior products that delight our clients.
- Rapidly prototype and implement high-quality game features, textures, special effects, and visual effects using UEFN and Unreal Engine with minimal support.Â
- Ensure the project remains clean and optimized by regularly auditing assets, hierarchies, and workflows.
- Develop and implement tools for art pipelines, techniques, design guidelines, and debug tools. Educating team members on new discoveries and practices.Â
- Work collaboratively with the team and clients to provide invaluable input into game design and ambiance. Identity and communicate potential issues.
- Utilize feedback from clients, play testers and team members to continuously improve. Provide critical feedback to team members. Offer creative solutions to clients and Leads that address performance related issues.Â
- Work autonomously to manage schedule and pipeline to produce quality assets in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Â
- Keep perpetually updated on UEFN, the Fortnite Creative development space, and Unreal tools and techniquesÂ
Your Past AccomplishmentsÂ
- Previous (professional or extreme-hobbyist) experience in roles which prove a high level of competency in visual optimization, ability to create high quality assets, and level design in Unreal Engine and/or UEFN.
- Strong understanding and application of Unreal Engine and Fortnite Creative. Proven past experience creating functional levels and expert understanding of Blueprints in UE.Â
- Strong bonus: Past experience professionally or casually playing or creating Fortnite Creative experiences and maps. Â
- Expert ability to create, shade, and texture assets. Coupled with the ability to create debug shader tools and techniques.Â
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Designer.
PLEASE NOTE
- While this position can be remote, you will be expected to maintain a set schedule that allows for easy collaboration with the team. Expect to have a majority of your working hours set between 9 to 5pm CST. Preference will be given to candidates willing to join us in our Cedar Park, Texas Office.Â
- This role is a full-time contract position. Expect 40-hours per week with additional availability outside of normal working hours for product launches and updates.
