What We Are Looking For

The Technical designer will be responsible for the development of our core products from end to end. They should have a fine eye for detail and be driven by quality and function as they own measuring and speccing products, attending fitting and partnering with design and vendors to ensure product meets timelines and the brand’s vision for quality and function as well being responsible for fit and wearer test studies and analysis

What You Will Own And How You Will Make A Difference 

1. Own product development from Proto to PP, researching, fitting and building analysis for the competitor landscape and presenting observations and recommendations to design for new, innovative, solution led products
2. Partner proactively with Planning and Merch on core refit programs and managing the process from collecting data and feedback on core products, owning the fit study and building up observations and recommendations for change, partnering with the vendor to action the updates and managing the fit process through to approval 
3. Own special fit project: including competitive market and fit studies, size charts, wear testing, and fit videos/store training
4. Create and edit tech packs and data entry in PLM including fit comments, specs, HTM and sketch edits
5. Book fittings and models, coordinating go sees and maintaining records and measurement data 
6. Measure and QC all samples from fit to PP
7. Run fittings, partnering with design to meet product intent and communicate changes to the manufacturer
8. Work directly with overseas pattern maker through joint fit sessions, videos, weekly calls to improve and develop our fit
9. Review, comment, and track and file all approvals for cup and garment specs 
10. Liaise with design, sourcing and production teams to ensure developments stay on track according to the T&A Calendar, 
11. Various other tasks and duties as assigned or needed

Who You Are

• 5+ years experience minimum in product development or technical design with a focus in apparel or Intimates 
• Experience working with and communicating with partners in Asia
• Must have a deep understanding of fit, fabrications, and techniques
• Intermediate skill set in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Drive, and Excel
• Experience managing direct reports would be advantageous

Physical Demands

• Stand or Sit : Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 60% of the time
• Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer, printer, etc.
• See: The ability to observe details at close range like digital writing (within a few feet of the observer).
• Talk & Speak clearly: The ability to verbally communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, many of these interactions can be online and will require verbal exchanges.
• Hear & Verbal Comprehension: The ability to listen to what other colleagues verbally express and understand the information that has been provided.
• Walk:The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Thought Processing: be able to make logical connections between thoughts and/or actions. Be able to understand their relevance to achieve a goal or keep the thread of conversation.
