Technical Lead - Ruby on Rails

We are looking for a Backend Team Lead who has comprehensive knowledge in Ruby on Rails, is highly familiar with distributed service architectures and has already successfully led the development of complex web applications in a professional capacity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• You bring in your enthusiasm, knowledge and skills to develop the most advanced SaaS solution for audiovisual content management and distribution
• You advise and coordinate your teammates as well as third-party developers to craft robust, highly optimized software components
• You prototype, conceptualize and optimize features for various web applications
• You review team members’ code to ensure high-quality and continuous learning and ensuring all code contributions match the conventions you’ve helped to set up
• You ensure that all development is state of the art, easy to maintain and simple to use
• You mentor others by teaching best coding practices and by introducing new technologies and/or methodologies
• You work across teams with support, frontend, quality assurance and design to achieve company-wide goals

• You have 7+ years of experience in web application development
• You have programmed in Ruby on Rails for 5+ years
• You have experience in leading teams of at least 5 developers for 3+ years
• You have excellent knowledge of Postgres or another SQL database system
• You have decent experience in building and consuming JSON APIs
• You are passioned about building automated tests using RSpec
• You are familiar to Git and Git-based workflows, including GitHub code reviews
• You love teamwork as much as a clean and beautiful code
• You can find a balance between maintainability, security, performance, and flexibility
• You are into pair programming and agile methodologies
• You have a strong sense of responsibility and leadership
• You are a true team leader and enjoy sharing knowledge proactively
• You have a strong autonomy, self-discipline and ability to self-educate
• You are fluent in English
