About the Role
The Technical Line Lead has three primary responsibilities: Restore flow, conduct analysis to pinpoint issues and subsequently implement corrective measures. The Technical Line Lead must also assist the work cell in prevention of variation affecting Quality, Costs, Production/ Schedule, and Maintenance. The position is collaborative and performs production duties and provides support in the form of direction, guidance, relief, training, problem solving and encouragement within the work centre. The Technical line lead facilitates actives to ensure all standards are maintained and cost, quality and maintained requirements are met.
Your Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the activities of the Set-Up Team, Welder, and Process Technician. Perform duties related to Rolling Mill Setup, Welding and Process technician as required
2. Provide support to Rolling Mill Set-up Technicians with troubleshooting during the operation of the line.
3. Report equipment and tooling problems / abnormalities to supervisor immediately.
4. Skillfully operate shadowgraph and the PLV system to ensure cross sections are within Mylar specifications. Ensure that a heat #/lot #, metal size, job #/part # and welders initials are on every coil.
5. Ensure a steady supply of WIP/Components for all lines; inform shift supervisor if there is any material shortage. Ensure all metal skids - full and partial - are properly identified, reported, and stored.
6. Initiate and support the Examination of low efficiency extrusion lines to identify necessary actions to improve quality, scrap, downtime, and other issues to improve KPI's
Who we are looking for

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Minimum 2 years of Extrusion experience required.
• Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. to the waist and 30 lbs. overhead.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset.
• Valid forklift license
• Rolling Mill Set Up experience and Welding Experience preferred.
