Faction Technical Product Marketing Manager

Key elements of this role typically include:

  • Technical expertise: A technical marketing manager possesses a deep understanding of the company's products and services, including their technical specifications, features, and capabilities. This expertise allows them to effectively communicate the value proposition of the company's offerings to technical audiences, such as IT professionals, data engineers, and developers.
  • Product/Solution positioning and sales collateral: The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, messaging that is understandable and compelling to both technical and non-technical audiences. This skill is essential for creating solution marketing materials, such as product documentation, case studies, win wires, prospect nurture, sales presentations that effectively convey the value proposition of the company's offerings.  Additionally, support thought-leadership projects through various avenues including content for blogs, bylined articles, and webinars.
  • Marketing skills: Proficiency in marketing principles, strategies, and tactics is essential. This includes knowledge of market research, branding, positioning, messaging, and content development.  Acting as a bridge between technical and marketing teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling B:B messaging that resonates with the target audience at the strategic (CxO, CIO/CDO, CDAO, CISO, etc) and practitioner level (data scientist, cloud architects, storage engineers, etc). 
  • Industry expertise and market differentiation: Proficiency in data storage, cloud, data management market trends, and competitors.  Strong ability to identify and highlight the unique technical features and capabilities of Faction’s offerings and solutions that set it apart from competitors. 
    • Establish a strong position in the market and attract clients who have specific technical requirements.  
    • Leverage data analysis to track and measure effectiveness of client / prospect engagement across marketing channels to make data-driven decisions and recommendations into the company’s content strategy. 
    • Leverage tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, and other marketing analytics platforms.
  • Project management: Managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines. Strong organizational and project management skills are necessary to ensure a successful content development process and milestones are met across development and layout/design cycles.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with various stakeholders and SMEs such as product, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and marketing initiatives. Collaboration skills are key to fostering productive relationships across departments.
  • Client focus: Understanding the needs and preferences of the target audience and using this insight to develop content strategies that effectively engage and resonate with clients.
  • Continuous learning: Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving marketing strategies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Overall, a technical marketing manager will effectively communicate the value of Faction’s offerings and solutions to target audiences (strategic and practitioner levels), differentiate in a competitive market, and engage with sales and clients to drive business growth.

Who We Are Looking For:

Faction is looking for a technical product marketing manager focused specifically on promoting the features and benefits of our offerings and solutions as well as highlighting the strategic outcomes our clients derive from our solutions. This position is responsible for articulating the unique value position and capabilities of our portfolio of offerings and how they deliver strategic business outcomes to our clients and partners. 

Technical Product Marketing Manager

As the Technical Product Marketing Manager at Faction, you will be instrumental in our content development and asset creation process, leveraging your extensive technical expertise in storage, multi-cloud, and data environments to target our strategic and practitioner audiences.  Our cloud-integrated multi-cloud data services and private cloud solutions enable our clients to deploy modern, hybrid/multi-cloud solutions which support production Cloud Application, Data Science and Data Protection use cases. By establishing strong, cross-function relationships through the organization, you will champion our value proposition and GTM strategy and expertly promote our portfolio. 

What You Will Do (Responsibilities): 

  • Develop product positioning and communicate the unique value proposition that highlights the unique value proposition of the offerings and the strategic business outcomes clients can derive.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear messaging that is understandable and compelling to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Create solution marketing materials, such as product documentation, case studies, win wires, prospect nurture campaign messages, and sales presentations that effectively convey the value proposition of the company's offerings.
  • Support thought leadership projects through various avenues including content for blogs, bylined articles, and webinars.
  • Conduct industry and market research to understand client needs and competitive landscape.  Develop battlecards, competitive analysis, solution positioning, and message maps.
  • Define, manage, and execute a comprehensive content development process for new and existing product / solution initiatives including: audience definition, product positioning, communications architecture, and launch strategy. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, engineering, sales) to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and marketing initiatives. 


Requirements:


  • BS/BA in Marketing or related field
  • Expertise in one or more public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and a deep understanding in a few industry categories such as data management, analytics & AI, storage, cyber recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • 10 years managing end-to-end product marketing at an innovative, fast-paced technology organization 
  • Proven experience developing content for technical solutions (blogs, webinars, articles) that showcase industry thought leadership.
  • Experience leveraging a portfolio of features and innovation to develop a one-brand ‘ecosystem’ strategy
  • Ability to develop and implement processes to scale product marketing to succeed in a rapidly growing organization
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable reviewing and analyzing business performance metrics, KPIs, ability to pivot when the data tells you
  • Results-driven, with a passion for using data to develop content that solves business problems, advances our brand narrative and resonates with our clients
  • Out-of-the-box thinker ready to get creative and take risks building a consumer brand from ground level
  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams


Salary Range:  $135K - $155K plus quarterly bonus
