SUMMARY OF ROLE

Under the general direction of the Production Test Supervisor, the Test Tech 2 will function as a member of the Testing Department Team. Ensure that all products meet or exceed customer requirements. Follow test procedures while utilizing Test Fixtures/Test Equipment (Oscilloscope and Multimeter) to test/calibrate digital logic and analog power control products to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with fast changing priorities all moving towards the overall goal of being efficient & prudent, and participating in a total team environment. While at the same time maintaining the quality of work being produced, and adhering to all safety standards set forth by the company.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing PCB boards for testing (PCB depaneling, Leads trimming, trimpots preset and other similar things).
  • Perform pre-inspection of all components and soldering prior to performing functional testing.
  • Identify assembly mistakes and defective parts.
  • Capable of following test procedures while utilizing manual test fixtures and test equipment.
  • Initiate quality action when product is deemed non-conforming.
  • Capable of testing at PCB board level and finished product.
  • Advanced knowledge of test equipment and complex test fixtures setup.
  • Effective helping Test Engineering with new employees training, projects and other responsibilities.
  • Performs advanced testing and calibration, very effective discovering faulty units.
  • Capable of troubleshoot down to component level by using schematics and perform repairs.
  • Capable of identify component issues (I.e. wrong values/parts, missing parts, backward and damage)
  • Working experience removing and soldering Thru-hole and SMT components (I.e. 0805, SOT-23, TSSOP-16 and smaller packages).
  • Record product test results, anomalies, and restoration information as required.
  • Help co-workers with any other production task like packaging, labeling, boxing required to complete the daily to complete the daily goal.
  • All oter dutues as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education/ Qualifications

Essential
  • Technical/Associates Degree or experience (see below)


Desirable
  • Electronics/Engineering Bachelor Degree (No experience required)


Experience

Essential
  • Minimum of Five (5) years testing and/or repairing electronics products.
  • Fully trained on four (4) or more KB product lines (I.e. KBVF, KBAC, KBDF, KBBC)


Desirable
  • SMT soldering, capable of setup test equipment (I.e. Multimeter, Oscilloscope and test fixtures) and electronic products troubleshot /repair.


Languages
  • English necessary (conversational and reading)


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time and carry loads of 50+ lbs. if necessary.
  • Must be able to detect different colors to ensure for correct assembly of units.
  • Constantly works around moving machinery
