The Intellectual Property Rights protection function within the Governance and Experience team is committed to protecting intellectual property rights and maintaining a safe e-commerce environment on TikTok's E-commerce Platforms.

What You'll Do
Set the vision, mission and strategy for the American Reactive Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) team, being the in-region subject matter expert for Intellectual Property Rights-related risks and Intellectual Property Rights risk governance trends.
Lead and support teams in creating and operating Notice and Takedown(NTD) mechanisms, developing tools, policies and processes for improving Brands and Rights Owner experience while minimizing Intellectual Property Rights risk.
Lead and support teams in creating and operating end-to-end programs based on quantitative data analysis and cases to minimize the Intellectual Property Rights risk (Counterfeit, Trademark, Copyright and etc.) in different product scenarios, such as listings, accounts, contents etc.
Lead and support teams in responding to, investigating, managing and resolving high-impact brand related incidents and escalations around Intellectual Property Rights issues, and identify the gaps, loopholes and deficiency in policy/process/metrics and initiate new programs to drive optimization to minimize the IP risk on the platform.
Define operational metrics, indicators, and own dashboard to monitor various aspects of Reactive Intellectual Property Rights risk operation effectiveness and efficiency. Be comfortable using data to analyze trends, predict and fix problems before they happen.
Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with teams across Tiktok to implement optimal solutions to Intellectual Property Rights-related problems as well as outsourcing needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience working in relevant industries, such as trust and safety/brand protection/relations, investigations especially intellectual properties/fraud related areas, risk management, and escalation strategy.
- Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking and analysis with strong attention to detail, and ability to manage ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and effectively liaise with people at all levels, excellent collaboration skills with internal and external cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills, with experience in collaborating with different business and technical stakeholders. Able to develop and execute project plans, independently monitor, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in computer science, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or MBA is a plus.
- Experience in E-commerce Intellectual Property Protection will be a plus.
- Proficient skills in data analysis and visualization using SQL (SAS, R, or Python) & Excel is a plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $139650 - $256500 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
