JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Manager of Mortgage TPO is responsible for overseeing the Third-Party Origination program. This role is responsible for managing relationships with brokers, correspondents, and other external partners to grow and maintain a profitable mortgage pipeline. The role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and quality control standards while driving business development efforts in the third-party channel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the growth and expansion of the TPO business by identifying and establishing new relationships with brokers and correspondents while maintaining existing partnerships to achieve origination goals and support MMCT/CRA efforts.
  • In partnership with senior management, create strategic goals and objectives for the TPO program. Contribute insights on market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external TPO partners, ensuring exceptional client service and timely communication. Address partner concerns, inquiries, and escalations effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, compliance, and operations, to streamline the TPO loan process and improve efficiency. Monitor the pipeline and ensure smooth loan submissions and closings.
  • Ensure all TPO activities adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance standards. Manage risk by conducting regular due diligence on third-party partners.
  • Develop and analyze performance metrics for the TPO channel, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring profitability. Prepare regular reports for senior management on TPO volume, profitability, and partner performance.
  • Lead and manage a team of TPO associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure alignment with business goals.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, finance, or related field, or combination of education and experience
  • Six years of experience in mortgage lending, with a focus on third-party origination or TPO management
  • Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) under the SAFE Act of 2008 is required
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems and CRM platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
