UX Developer

The kind of person we’re looking for:

A creative and technically skilled developer who is comfortable writing front-end code and designing engaging user interfaces. You should have a strong understanding of both development and design principles, with the ability to translate user needs into functional and visually compelling software. Must be happy in a highly team-oriented environment where collaboration between developers and across teams is common; where giving and receiving feedback, debate, and constructive criticism are actively encouraged. You should be comfortable taking initiative, solving complex design and usability challenges, and iterating on solutions quickly.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing:

• Designing and developing user interfaces and guest experiences for our Online Ordering products using Vue.js, SCSS, and other front-end technologies.

• Collaborating with the engineering team to create clean, efficient, and reusable code that aligns with design principles and improves overall usability.

• Creating and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and style guides to ensure a consistent look and feel across applications.

• Creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to design effective and engaging user experiences.

• Improving existing interfaces by elevating their aesthetics, ease of use, and overall user satisfaction.

• Working with stakeholders, including Product and Engineering teams, to turn user insights and feedback into functional and visually appealing solutions.

• Optimizing front-end performance and implementing responsive design techniques for various devices and screen sizes.

The kind of experience you’ll need:

• 3+ years of experience in front-end development and UI/UX design.

• Proficiency in front-end technologies, particularly Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience designing and building responsive, user-centric web applications.

• Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for creating and prototyping interfaces.

• Strong understanding of web standards, usability, and accessibility principles.

• Experience with version control systems (Git preferred).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

The extra stuff that would be nice:

• Experience with animation and interactive design (CSS animations, Lottie, etc.).

• Knowledge of back-end development and familiarity with full-stack LAMP environments (we use PHP).

• A portfolio or examples of your previous front-end development and design projects.

• Experience with MongoDB or other document databases.

• Familiarity with delivery and marketplace systems, such as Uber and DoorDash

• Familiarity with Point of Sale systems, such as Revel, Toast, NCR Aloha/RPOS, Square, etc.

• Experience with web performance optimization techniques.

• Experience with AWS or other cloud services.

Salary Range: $110k-$125kOur Interview Process:

1. Application Submitted: We’ll review your application and resume to assess how well your skills align with the role.

2. Phone Screen: If your application stands out, we’ll schedule a 30 minute phone call to learn more about your experience and answer any questions you may have.

3. Technical Interviews: After the phone screen, you’ll participate in three, 1-hour interviews, typically held in a single 3-hour session. You will meet members of the team and may be asked to whiteboard or to complete a coding challenge.

4. Final Decision: After the interviews, we’ll assess your candidacy and follow up with the final decision.
