Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a VB.NET Software Developer!

This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, enhance, and debug software applications built with VB.NET.
  • Lead development projects through the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) using a waterfall methodology.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions in the .NET framework to meet business needs.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems.
  • Ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in .NET development
  • Solid understanding of the waterfall development methodology and experience working in a structured SDLC environment
  • Experience with SOAP API and REST API
  • Proficiency in debugging, testing, and maintaining complex software applications
  • Experience with SQL Server and database management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • You take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and elegant
  • Self-starter - you're proactive and can start projects and tasks without constant direction
  • Quick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quickly

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Familiarity with other .NET languages (C#, F#)
  • Experience with modernizing legacy systems or migrating applications to newer technologies
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Postman or other API testing client
  • Experience with Entity Framework
  • Industry experience including direct marketing, e-commerce, print, graphic design and insurance and financial services
