As I reflect on the anniversary of a devastating day, I'm reminded of the profound sense of unity and compassion that emerged in its aftermath. It's this spirit of togetherness and selflessness that I want to celebrate and perpetuate. Watching the tributes and hearing stories of heroism, I'm left wondering: are others as deeply moved as I am? Shouldn't this outpouring of kindness continue beyond the anniversary?

In my hometown, we once held a poignant parade to honor the victims and first responders. Though the crowds dwindled over the years, the event remained a powerful reminder to prioritize community, empathy, and generosity. This year, I fear the parade may not take place at all – a loss that would be deeply felt.

I recall the day the towers fell, the sky a brilliant blue, devoid of clouds. The warmth of the sun belied the horror unfolding before our eyes. As a expectant mother, I worried about the world I was bringing my child into. A decade later, I instill in my children the importance of kindness, compassion, and the value of helping others.

As we mark this milestone, I urge you to take a moment to reflect on how you can make a positive impact on the world around you. Remember, remarkable things can happen when we come together with a shared purpose. Let us strive to create a world where empathy, kindness, and generosity know no bounds.
