About the Position: Serve as a Purchasing Agent for the U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Conditions of Employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Must meet position requirements for Contracting Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty according to the DoDI 5000.66, change 3.
This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
You may be expected to travel up to 15% for this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-06
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing standardized purchasing regulations, policies, or business practices to assist in procuring resources to meet mission requirements; AND 2) Assisting with procurement duties in various phases to complete the cradle to grave procurement process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-07
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Utilizing standardized purchasing regulations, policies, or business practices to procure resources to meet mission requirements; 2) Performing procurement duties in various phases to complete the cradle to grave procurement process; AND 3) Determining the method of procurement including the appropriate clauses or provisions to meet mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
