Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business & Technical Management Career Path (AcqDemo only) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as an Acquisition Analyst responsible for the analysis, evaluation, and approving of the strategy of award functions involving highly specialized procurements for weapons systems, subsystems, and related mission support equipment programs/projects. One-year probationary period may be required. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain or possess a Secret security clearance. This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II (Practitioner) in the Acquisition Career Field (Contracting) within 60 months of entrance on duty. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Planning and establishing the contractual strategy for the overall acquisition program; 2) Advising program officials of the contractual objectives; and 3) Developing and obtaining approval of complete contract requirement packages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition Strategy Planning and Evaluating Project Management Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
