Qualifications CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: The position requires a current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Refrigerant Certification (NOTE: Please submit a copy of the certification with your application packet.) PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Employee must be in a satisfactory physical and mental condition and fit for duty at all times, excluding body maintenance items. Employee will be required to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, climb, jump, and lift heavy objects for moderate time durations. Efforts will vary depending on the task to be performed. Employee is occasionally subject to very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous working conditions. Tours of duty are accomplished independently on a rotating shift plan. Employee is required to mix and handle chemicals for chilled water treatment; required to work in varying degrees of temperature; will be exposed to hazards such as electrical shock; and will be required to work on ladders, platforms, mechanical rooms, and carry heavy objects up and down stairs. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Additional information Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
