Qualifications
GS-05 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing laboratory operations, procedures, and record systems; 2) Measuring liquid and liquid transfers using laboratory equipment; 3) Maintaining sample identification and inventory control using manual methods or computer technology; and 4) Following laboratory requirements and standardized operational procedures.
GS-04 level:
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience and six months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-03) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 6 months of general experience defined as (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing routine operations and procedures; 2) Operating a computer; and 3) General knowledge of safety practices.

Education
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
GS-05 level:
Successful completion of a 4-year (120 semester hours) course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses directly related to the position (a) with major study in an appropriate field of physical science, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as physical science, engineering, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics. This education must be obtained at an accredited college or university.
GS-04 level:
Successful completion of 2 years (60 semester hours) above high school directly related to the position that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as physical science, engineering, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics. This education must be obtained at an accredited college or university.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.

This job has two shifts within the hours of operation, 0600 - 1430 and 0900 - 1730.
