Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Arlington National Cemetery is located in Arlington, VA. Since May of 1864, Arlington National Cemetery has served as the nation's premier military cemetery and shrine honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license. May be required to transport others in and around the cemetery. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing. Position may be designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MOBILE EQUIPMENT SERVICER (MVO) ~ without more than normal supervision, performing common mechanical tasks such as removing and installing wiper blades, light bulbs, checking air pressure in tires and inflate to correct pressure; charging batteries and adding distilled water or battery acid as necessary. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Lifts objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and lifts heavier items with assistance. Incumbent frequently walks, stands, bends, reaches, and works in awkward positions. The incumbent frequently works on top of equipment at heights up to 18 feet above the ground. Physical effort is needed at this level to maneuver the longer and heavier vehicles, especially when backing these vehicles. Working Conditions: Incumbent works outside in all types of weather. Indoor work is done in dirty, oily, and greasy areas where there is constant exposure to cuts, bruises and burns. Incumbent operates motor vehicles on public roads all over the surrounding area in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
