Summary
This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Die Manufacturing Division. As a MACHINIST (DIE MANUFACTURER), you will be proficient in all die manufacturing processes and experienced in troubleshooting and repairing machine tools, to include Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming.

Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Work is performed indoors in a well-lighted and ventilated production area. The employee is exposed to shop noises, dirt, fumes, vibrations, caustic substances and conditions where extreme heat is present (furnace temperatures up to 2000 degrees F). Subject to the hazards of burns and injury when working near furnaces. Also subject to eyestrain in working with close detail in repairing and polishing hubs. Wearing of protective clothing (safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs) and adherence to all safety rules and regulations is required.

You must meet the screen-out element: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. To meet the screen-out element, applicants must have: experience setting up, operating CNC lathes, CNC mills and CNC grinders. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified. Your application will be evaluated in the following areas: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (screen-out), Operation of Machine Tools, Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic), Ability To Use Hand Tools for Machine Shop, and Ability To Use Shop Drawings.
