Summary About the position: This position is located at Misawa Collocated Club, 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB Japan. This is a Flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete food handler training. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience that demonstrates knowledge of coffee shop/Bistro operations. Progressively responsible experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other processing of cash items is required. Must be familiar with sales operations. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to provide work direction to other employees. Must have skill in dealing with the public. Knowledge of fire, safety, and health regulations is desirable. Knowledgeable of FLYERS policies and procedures is desirable. Must be able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
