Summary
You will serve as a Joint Exercise Experimentation Node Manager in the Innovation and Experimentation Division of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Program Security Clearances.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing knowledge in strategic capabilities integration, methodology development, and implementation. Specialized experience must include most or all of the following: 1) Maintaining operation development and implementation required for operations and sustainment of experimentation environments; 2) Scheduling and preparing for experimentation in joint exercises or table top exercises; 3) Assisting with development of experimentation campaign excursions within and across operational domains to assess the effectiveness of experiments; 4) Reviewing technical, scientific, and research reports from various sources; 5) Managing resourcing, planning, budgeting, facilities, daily operations and experimentation tasks.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.
