This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c).
About the Position: Serves as a Security Guard, GS-0085-06 with the Joint Munitions Command at Tooele Army Depot, Law Enforcement & Security Division.

Conditions of Employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical examination (physical, emotional and mental stability).
Must successfully pass entry level and annual re-certification of physical fitness/ability test.
Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test and then annually through random testing thereafter.
"May" be subject to a one year probationary period unless requirement previously met as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
Position requires rotating shift work which may include fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must maintain requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in accordance with AR 190-56, The Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program.
Must meet requirements under 18 USC 922(g)(9) (The Lautenberg Amendment); and sign the DD Form 2760 (Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition).
Required to wear prescribed uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS- 05 level or equivalent with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved conducting patrols to identify potential hazards to property and facilities such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; and control the access of personnel and/or vehicles to the installation or facility.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
