MWR Electrician Foreman

Summary This position is located in the Regional Facilities/Construction Department of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department. The primary purpose of this position, as the worksite supervisor, is to ensure through lower graded employees (Carpenters and Plumbers) performing a variety of work assignments relative to the maintenance, repair and acquisition of MWR facilities and equipment are performed in accordance with applicable rules, codes and regulations. Qualifications Knowledge of the makeup, operation and installation of a variety of electrical systems, circuits, equipment and controls, to include electrical code compliance. Ability to plan, layout and complete the installation, modifications and repair of various systems, circuits, equipment and controls. Four years of experience as an electrician. Ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams and drawings and use of formulas basic to the trade. Knowledge and skill in the use of hand tools and a wide variety of test equipment such as wire cutters and strippers, drills, test meters, ohmmeters, etc. Knowledge of construction and building maintenance. Knowledge of various gauges, sizes, and types of wire, conduit, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, circuit breakers. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to deal effectively with others. Some knowledge of plumbing and carpentry required.
