Preservation Worker

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

• Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
• Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
• Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
• Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
• Knowledge of materials
• Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
• Use of Measuring Instructions

Examples of experience are: (1) Assisting in carpentry, masonry, roofing, and painting tasks working on buildings, completing tasks in a timely manner and assisting in the maintenance of tools and equipment. (2) Assisting higher graded journeymen in the repair, reconstruction, restoration, or rehabilitation of wood structures by performing work on such elements as frameworks, rafters, doors, windows, floors, staircases, trusses and beams, interior and exterior trim, and roofing where fit and accuracy provide a serviceable product. (3) Experience in completing both inside and outside finish work or rough carpentry. (4) Work involves restoration of historic properties; your experience may be from a variety of building experience. (5) Have the ability to read construction documents when completing restoration and preservation projects. Experience should be clearly described and documented in your resume.
