Summary THIS IS A ND NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Military membership is NOT required. This ND National Guard position is for a SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE (VICT ADV) (SAR WF), Position Description Number T5555P01 and is part of the ND JOINT STAFF, National Guard. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposition is mandatory. You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless approved by the TAG. Required to obtain and maintain receive the DoD mandated Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Credentialing Program (D-SAACP) certification and maintain certification through meeting annual continuing education training requirements. Qualifications PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. This information is needed to determine if you are qualified for the position. Applicant must possess the basic requirements. A. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. B. Combination of education and experience that provided the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (e.g. counseling, psychology, etc.). The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Applicants may meet minimum qualification requirements through experience equivalent to a 4-year degree. In addition to the basic requirement, applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the GS 09 grade level or civilian equivalent. The specialized experience includes 1) providing professional advocacy services to victims or survivors of sexual assault and sexual harassment; 2) conducting assessments with clients to evaluate needs and risks; 3) recognizing the need for professional intervention and referring to appropriate services; and 4) maintaining partnerships in the community and conducting training/seminars on sexual assault/sexual harassment. Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.
